Great interest in new E-175 EP5 from international customers

ENERCON signs first supply contract for international project with Turkish energy producer Enerjisa Üretim.

ENERCON's new E-175 EP5 has also been very well received by international customers. ‘We are seeing a great deal of interest in our new top model from our international customers,’ said ENERCON CCO Uli Schulze Südhoff at the signing of the contract for ENERCON's first international E-175 EP5 project. The delivery of the first E-175 EP5 for Türkiye was contractually agreed with the Turkish energy producer Enerjisa Üretim in Istanbul on 2 August.

‘We are very pleased with how the market launch of the new turbine type is progressing,’ added Schulze Südhoff. The prototype is currently being installed in North Rhine-Westphalia/Germany, while series production is being prepared at ENERCON's production sites. ‘We have already sold the volume for 2025,’ said the ENERCON CCO. ‘We are also in concrete negotiations with customers for numerous projects for the next 24 months – and there are also further enquiries, including from more and more international customers. The combination of “ENERCON quality and competitive product”, which is ideally suited to the requirements in many international onshore markets, is making the difference!’

The E-175 EP5 sold to Enerjisa Üretim is destined for the Bandirma Energy Base project in Balikesir province. Turbine installation is planned for mid-2025, commissioning for Q4/2025. With a rated output of 6 MW and a rotor diameter of 175 metres, ENERCON's top model is currently one of the most powerful onshore wind turbines. The turbine will be erected on a steel tower with a hub height of 132 metres.

‘The E-175 EP5 is very well suited for sites in Türkiye,’ says Arif Günyar, Regional Head of ENERCON's Central Asia, Middle East and Africa region (CAMEA). ‘The supply contract with Enerjisa Üretim should be the beginning for us. We have a close relationship with the Turkish market. We have been contributing to the Turkish energy transition for more than 25 years. It is therefore important to us to work with our Turkish partners to drive forward the onshore expansion and the energy transition in Türkiye with our new generation of turbines.’

Took part in the signing ceremony in Istanbul (from left): Mert Yaycıoğlu (CFO Enerjisa Üretim), İhsan Erbil Bayçöl (CEO Enerjisa Üretim), Ezgi Deniz Katmer (Deputy General Manager Wind Power Plants Investments Enerjsa Üretim), Uli Schulze Südhoff (ENERCON CCO), Arif Günyar (ENERCON Regional Head CAMEA), and Tayfun Bayraktar (Sales and After Sales Director ENERCON Region CAMEA).
